GNIS has an active student council, elected by the school community each academic year. The Student Council consists of four officers president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer as well as one representative from each level from Year 4 through 11. The student council represents the views of the student body to the faculty and administration. In addition, the Student Council is involved in the development of school practices as well as organizing and providing a variety of community service activities and student social events.
